Our Vision
We at the SFCF believe in the transformative power of education. Our goal is to support organizations and efforts aligned with the belief that all students deserve a high-quality, excellent, public education. As former public school teachers (two of us!), we want to support efforts to improve outcomes for MLL students as well as increase the teacher candidate pool for bilingual teachers.
Our foundation supports organizations that will provide increased and equitable access for MLLs to dual language education programs and highly qualified teachers. As our local communities become increasingly diverse, we believe all teachers should be provided a strong and inclusive skillset to best serve MLLs. We also know how effective native language instruction can be for MLLs and aim to provide more opportunities for students to engage in a multilingual education.
