Targeted Impact
While our primary focus is on transforming education through support for multilingual learners and bilingual educators, our philanthropic vision extends beyond the classroom.
In honor of personal passions and family legacy, the Sullivan Family Charitable Foundation also supports a select group of organizations dedicated to the arts, culture, veterans, and community well-being.
We honor those who have served and the families who carry their memory.
From scholarships to community-based veteran support programs, we believe in gratitude for the sacrifices, resilience, courage, community, and service of our veterans.
The arts remind us who we are and connect us across generations.
By investing in creativity, we discover ways to sustain joy, beauty, and shared expression in our communities. We see these commitments as bridges between heritage and innovation.
Every strong community has anchors: places where people gather, learn, and preserve history.
In these, we are able to connect and envision beyond what we have lived. We partner with historic preservation organizations, and community learning centers to safeguard the institutions that knit neighborhoods together and make sure future generations inherit both knowledge and a sense of history.
A workforce that lacks strong language skills may struggle to compete in a global economy.
Inadequate educational support can increase segregation and diminish cultural understanding.
A diverse and inclusive educational system fosters creative problem- solving and innovation.
By focusing on both multilingual learners and the bilingual teacher pipeline, our foundation is committed to transforming these challenges into opportunities.
Más maestros bilingües, más oportunidades para todos.
We invest in professional development and innovative dual-language programs to ensure that every multilingual student receives quality instruction. In doing so, we improve individual academic outcomes and contribute to a more competitive, cohesive, and equitable society.
Achieving this vision means a brighter future for the entire nation—one where the strengths of diversity fuel economic prosperity, social integration, and innovative progress por el bien de todos!
When we invest in legacy issues — honoring service, nurturing culture, and sustaining community institutions — the potential extends far beyond individual grants.
Juntos, preservamos memoria, creatividad y pertenencia.
Research and real-world experience show that supporting veterans, arts & culture, and community anchors can drive meaningful impact across life, health, social, and civic outcomes:
Creative arts, storytelling, and cultural expression help individuals process trauma, sharpen resilience, and regain connection.
Strong cultural institutions and historic places anchor communities, offering continuity across time.
Legacy grants help knit communities together, bridging generational and cultural divides.
Legacy commitments also echo through economic and cultural spheres.
Our current legacy partnerships reflect the values, relationships, and histories that have helped shape who we are today, and we are eager to keep expanding them:
honoring the sacrifice and service of our nation’s veterans through scholarships, support for Army Rangers, community engagement activities, and other causes.
such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Glen Echo Park Partnership, and Evanston Dance Ensemble. They all support artistic expression through classes, network, and presentations.
like the Friends of the Community Learning Center (Cambridge, MA), and The Preservation Society of Newport County (Newport, RI). These create safe spaces for learning and connection.

Legacy is more than giving.
It’s about honoring memory, preserving values, and deepening connection.
Beyond our investment in language and education, we believe that culture, service, and community are the anchors of our shared identity. By supporting organizations that engage with heritage, creativity, and service, we aspire to build a more vibrant and rooted future.
